The Department of Social Affairs brought together a group of male staff from the Department of Employment, Social Affairs and the Agency for Social Protection to raise awareness about their health and well-being to commemorate International Men’s Day on Sunday 19th November.
Minister Patricia Francourt greeted them by thanking the men for being strong for their families and in their jobs.
She encouraged them to continue to be the role models to their sons, brothers, nephews and cousins within their family.
Ahead of the session, the special guests gathered together to cut a cake specially made for the occasion.
Topics ranging from sexually transmitted diseases, health-related diseases linked to lifestyle and erectile dysfunction brought about lively interaction between the participants.
The Department of Social Affairs hopes such activities will help boost men’s self-esteem to open up about their health issues and in return live happier and healthier lives.
