On Saturday 7th June 2025, a special event was held at Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort to commemorate Children’s Day. Fourteen children from Foyer de Nazareth and Foyer de La Solitude took part in a memorable day filled with learning, creativity, and joyful experiences.
The day began with an opening remark by the Director Social Services Ms. Beryl Laboudallon on behalf of the Social Affairs Department followed by an engaging session on children’s rights, led by Ms. Angel Jeannevol. Through discussion and interactive activities, the children learned about their fundamental rights in a way that was both age-appropriate and empowering.
This was followed by a fun painting activity, where the children were encouraged to express themselves through art. With bright colors and big smiles, they brought their imagination to life on canvas, creating vibrant pieces that reflected their unique personalities.
The celebration continued with a relaxing and playful afternoon by the pool, giving the children a chance to unwind and simply enjoy being kids.
This event was part of ongoing efforts to ensure that every child feels seen, valued, and celebrated. It was not only a day of fun, but also a meaningful opportunity to promote awareness of children’s rights and well-being.
Special thanks to all who made this event possible, especially the staff of Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay, caregivers from both foyers, and the organizers who made it a truly unforgettable day for the children.
The activities continued on 13th June 2025 at the Grand Anse Library on Praslin, where children from Grand Anse primary school participated in a half-day activity featuring storytelling and library games.
The celebrations concluded on 14th June 2025 with an energetic and fun-filled “Minute to Win It” challenge at the Grand Anse Community Centre. These interactive activities were designed to build teamwork, coordination, and quick thinking in a playful and supportive environment.
These events reflect the Department’s ongoing commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces for children to express themselves, learn about their rights, and connect with their peers.
