Recently, the Social Affairs Department officially opened a Children’s Waiting Area, thoughtfully designed to give little ones a safe and welcoming space to sit and play while their parents or guardians meet with social workers. This initiative ensures that children are placed in a positive, calm environment, away from the stress and sensitive social matters that may be taking place around them.
The official opening was marked by the Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Equality, accompanied by the CEO of IECD, the Principal Secretary of the Social Affairs Department, and the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Family and Equality, who had the honour of cutting the ribbon.
Located at the Social Affairs Department, this new waiting area reflects a shared commitment to putting children first and ensuring their wellbeing throughout social affairs procedures. A small space, with a big impact, because every child deserves to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for
